Young centre half Reece Burke has extended his youth loan with League One Bradford City until the new year.

The 18-year-old defender has been at Valley Parade since August and has proved to be a huge hit with supporters of the Yorkshire club.

City boss Phil Parkinson told the club's website: "We are very pleased that Reece is remaining with us - we are going to need everyone over this busy Christmas period.

"Reece has been excellent for us, he is a very good player, but we just need to make sure we get his injury right first. It is important that we focus on this first but he is a good addition for us until January."

Burke recently returned to West Ham in order to undergo treatment for a knee injury, but is set to rejoin Parkinson's squad ahead of this weekend's trip to Walsall.

He has made a total of 14 appearances for Bradford since joining the club - 13 in League One and one in the FA Cup, that being City's goalless draw at Aldershot in his most recent appearance on 8 November.
