Kouyate suspension lifted

Cheik Kouyate's one-match suspension for denying a goalscoring opportunity during the 5-1 win at Blackburn on Sunday has been rescinded by the FA.

A statement issued by the FA this afternoon (Tuesday) read: "Cheikhou Kouyate's suspension has been withdrawn with immediate effect following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today.

"West Ham United’s claim of wrongful dismissal in relation to their Emirates FA Cup fifth round proper tie against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday 21 February 2016 was upheld."

Referee Jon Moss issued the Senegal international with a straight red following the accidental collision with Rovers' Adam Henley on the edge of West Ham's penalty area, despite the Blackburn player having clearly lost control of the ball.

West Ham insisted immediately after the game that they would appeal against Moss' call, which has now been overturned. As a result, Kouyate will be available for this weekend's Premier League clash with Sam Allardyce's Sunderland.
