West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan believes West Ham will sign up to six players this summer.

The co-chairman, speaking during an event at the Boleyn Ground also insisted that a striker remained the club's top priority - adding that he expects the player to cost up to £30million.

"What we need is a 20-goal-a-season striker, which is the hardest thing to sign," he told the club's website. "And that's going to cost us between £25-30million. That's where the bulk of the money will go.

"Then, there may be a few fringe players we let go and use that money to bring in two or three more players.

"I would think maybe four, five or six players will come in this summer, depending on how many go. Then hopefully we'll do as good - or better - than we did last season."

Sullivan also revealed that he expects to signing one or two cheaper players who he hopes can emulate the likes of Michail Antonio, who arrived at the club in a £7million switch from Nottingham Forest on transfer deadline day last summer.

"We also need the occasional long-shot, cheaper player who may come good like Michail," he added. "He's a fantastic player, an outstanding player, a winger who scores goals."
