West Ham have made a substantial bid for Milan striker Carlos Bacca, according to Italian media.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported overnight that the Hammers had placed a bid in the region of €20million (circa £15million) for the 29-year-old Colombian international.

However it is also claimed that MIlan will reject the offer, with I Rossoneri said to be holding out for a fee closer to €25million (£19million).

Bacca moved to the San Siro in June 2015, having activated a 30million release clause in his contract with previous club Seville for whom he scored 49 goals in 108 appearances.

And since moving to Italy, his 'one in two' form has continued, with Bacca having netted 20 times in 42 games for the Serie A side.

Earlier spells with Brugge and Atletico Junior were also profitable, with the striker - who is understood to have expressed an interest in moving to London - having scored 210 goals in a career spanning 410 games.
