Payet shirt replacement scheme announced

Fans left with useless shirts featuring the name of Dimitri Payet have been offered the opportunity to replace them by West Ham.

According to vice-chair Karren Brady, speaking via twitter this morning, anyone in possession of a replica shirt featuring the name and number 27 of the now departed French international can take them into the club store and replace them with a blank shirt for 25.

Which, on the face of it seems like a great deal for Hammers fans - although it should be pointed out that you can get a brand new blank shirt for just 36.66 WITHOUT having to take your Payet shirt back, as the price of all replica kits was reduced by a third (down from 55) last week.

* Payet will be unveiled by his new club, Marseille, at 2.30pm this afternoon. He returned to France yesterday after a 25million fee was agreed by the two clubs.
