Hammers managing director Paul Aldridge indicated this morning that Australian centre-back Hayden Foxe could at last be about to receive a work permit allowing him to play for the Hammers.
Aldridge told Soccernet: 'As long as Hayden plays in Australia's next international - a World Cup qualifier in April - that will be enough to meet the criteria."The long running saga began in the summer when Foxe was initially denied a work permit after failing to meet the criteria laid down by the DfEE for foreign non-EEC players. He has since been denied a permit on a further three occasions.
However Aldridge added that the loan move to Belguim side Mechelen was still on the cards whilst the situation was being resolved.
