Andy Carroll should be instantly recalled to the England squad - according to West Ham team mate and Welsh Euro 16 star James Collins.
Despite his recent injury, the big striker should be a shoo-in for Gareth Southgate's next England selection, says the central defender.
"A fit Andy Carroll is a handful for any defender," Collins told whufc.com. "I know if I was playing against him and he was in the opposite team, I’d be in for a tough afternoon. It gives [England] something different.
"I've never trained against or played against a lad who is so physical and as good in the air as Andy, so I think it’s a no brainer for him to be in the squad as something different to what they’re used to.
Carroll, 28, is hoping to return from injury in time to face Chelsea at the Olympic Stadium next week.
Meanwhile Southgate is scheduled to name his latest squad for the forthcoming meetings with Germany (Berlin, Wednesday 22 March) and Lithuania (Wembley, Sunday 27 March) imminently.
Carroll, who celebrated his birthday in January last featured for the national side five years ago in the 2012 European Championships, a year or so after moving to Liverpool in a £35million switch from Newcastle.
