Slaven Bilic says that Darren Randolph was "disappointed" at being told he was being dropped - but remains determined to win his place in the first team back.
The Irish international was dropped following a series of blunders in the wake of a KUMB poll that resulted in 95 per cent of supporters calling for Adrian to be reinstated as the club's #1.However Bilic says that the 29-year-old has taken the news in his stride - and is working to to persuade Bilic that he deserves to remain as first choice.
Explaining his decision to drop Randolph, Bilic said: "I had a couple of meetings with them individually and I explained my decision [to change], like I explained my decision to Adrian after 10 games of the season [last November].
"Randy's a great professional and of course he's disappointed but he completely understood my decision and he's training hard and now waiting for his chance - like Adrian waited for his.
"I've always said that we have two really good goalkeepers and it is a blessing for us. You never know what's going to happen in football but I'm really happy with my goalkeepers."
Adrian made his long-awaited comeback in last Saturday's 0-0 draw with Everton, West Ham's third clean sheet of 2017 following the shut-outs against Crystal Palace (14 January) and Swansea (8 April).
