Stoke City 0-0 West Ham Utd

West Ham have extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to four games after securing a point with a goalless draw at The Britannia Stadium.

The Hammers, who played the final ten minutes without a recognised striker on the pitch enjoyed the better of the few chances that arose but neither side really deserved to win this dull, end-of-season affair.

However Slaven Bilic will no doubt take heart frm another solid defensive display, meaning goalkeeper Adrian remains unbeaten since winning his place in the team back from the errant Darren Randolph.

The best chances of the game fell to West Ham in the first half, but City 'keeper Jack Butland was in inspired form and almost solely-responsible for keeping West Ham at bay.

This was no more evident than when the England stopper - making his first start in a home league match since March 2016 - stretched to make a smart save from Andre Ayew's overhead kick, which was firmly struck and heading for the back of the net.

United squandered another great chance to move into the lead when Jonathan Calleri opted to go for the spectacular with a 'Rabona', when a tap-in into a largely empty goal would almost certainly had sufficed.

His shot was hit straight at a well-positioned City defender and cleared to safety.

For the home side chances were few and far between although Adrian had to be at his best to deny Marko Arnautovic from point blank range, when the Austrian forward appeared odds-on to score.

And in the end, a point each will probably satisfy both sides - taking Stoke, as it does, to the magic 40-point mark and West Ham to 39, one shy of the Potters.
