New Start for Nigel

Nigel Reo-Coker has finally landed a new contract - with Norwegian second division side IK Start.

Last month KUMB revealed that Reo-Coker was training with Tony Adams at Grenada, but he failed to secure a contract. The former West Ham United captain, 32, had been without a club since leaving Montreal Impact last year.




However having cast his attention to rather cooler climes, Reo-Coker has finally secured a season-long deal - with Start, in Norway's second tier.

"I love the game, I still have a passion for playing at the highest level and I know I can compete at that level," said Reo-Coker, who also spent time with Wimbledon and Aston Villa before leaving the UK.

"I'll bring experience and a bit of quality - the more games you play and the older you get, the more you learn about football and what it means to play at the highest level.

"I hope it'll be a great year. I want to give a true account of myself every time I step on the training pitch and every time I play games.

"Hopefully I can pass down some of the knowledge and experience that I've gained throughout the years to some members of this team."

Reo-Coker, who will wear the number 5 shirt, is set to make his debut for Start's reserves tonight.
