Adrian contract clause triggered

Spanish goalkeeper Adrian will be staying at West Ham a little longer - after the club triggered a two-year contract extension.

The 30-year-old was out of contract this summer and for some considerable time during the season, looked as if he would be departing West Ham having been dropped in favour of Darren Randolph.

However having recently been recalled to the first team, in the wake of a KUMB Poll that saw 95 per cent of voters call for his reintroduction, Adrian has now been granted a two-year extension - part of his previous deal which the club have now chosen to trigger.

"Adrian was out of contract but we have an option and we activated that option," Bilic said earlier today. "We are happy with him, of course."

The popular 'keeper has been at West Ham since the summer of 2013, when he replaced Jussi Jaaskelainen as the club's first choice stopper. Adrian joined the club on a free transfer from Real Betis.
