West Ham transfer target Olivier Giroud insists that he wants to stay and fight for his place at Arsenal.

The 30-year-old French international has beeen strongly linked with a move to West Ham in recent weeks after it was revealed his current club were seeking to replce him.

But speaking to the Arsenal website today, Giroud insisted that his time at the Emirates is far from over - and that he has no intention of walking away from a contract that has a further three years yet to run.

"I won a few titles in my career, that is an important thing, but there is another thing which is important for me," he said. "That is, that people [see you as a] loyal warrior on the pitch and that you always give your best for the team.

"That's why I want to carry on my good journey at Arsenal. I always want to give my best.

"I would love to win another title, or maybe more until the end of my contract. The motivation is here, always doing your best to make your family proud."

Arsenal are currently close to signing former Hammers target Alexander Lacazette, which would leave Giroud as clear second choice. Free-spending Everton are also monitoring the situation.
