Chicharito set for debut, confirms Bilic

West Ham's latest signing, Javier Hernandez, is set to make his debut in one of the two fixtures against Werder Bremen this week, according to Slaven Bilic.

The Mexican international in on his way to Germany in order to meet up with the rest of the squad, and is expected to arrive later this afternoon (Thursday).




However he very is unlikely to feature in BOTH friendlies against the Bundesliga outfit which are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

"Chicharito won’t play both games in the Betway Cup," said Bilic, speaking from Germany today. "We won’t jeopardise our plans in these pre-season games as these are not important games for us.

"The idea is to play two teams. Now we have come to the stage ideally it is 60 mins one team and 30 mins the other and then vice-versa the next day, so they will all get 90 minutes."




Bilic also confirmed that he had been chasing Chicharito for some time, as revealed on KUMB earlier this week. "When I came to West Ham two years ago and he was leaving Man United, I wanted him then," he confirmed.

"When he decided to go to Leverkusen, he told me 'sorry'. Now, after two years, I found out he may leave so I called him again. He is a fantastic player. He is very experienced and has scored goals everywhere he's been."
