On-loan defender Reece Oxford has finally made his debut for Borussia Monchengladbach - FOUR months after joining the Bundesliga club on loan.

18-year-old Oxford joined Monchengladbach on a season-long deal back in June, but had been an unusued substitute in every match for which he had been available prior to Saturday afternoon.

However the Hammers youngster finally made his first appearance in Die Fohlen's 3-1 defeat of Hoffenheim at the Rhein-Neckar Arena - albeit only for the final ten minutes, as a late replacement for Lars Stindl.

The win takes Oxford's side up to sixth in the Bundesliga, just six points behind current leaders Bayern Munich who lead the pack with 23 points from their opening ten games of the season.

The top four clubs qualify for next season's Champions League, with the teams finihing 5th and 6th will secure a spot in the Europa League.
