The opposition view: Crystal Palace

Tiny margins as the Nigels fight back to earn a point. But what did Palace's faithful make of it all? Find out in your latest edition of The OV...

"Back from the game. We deserved to win but I'm grateful for a draw with virtually the last kick of the game. West Ham were not good and got away with a fair bit when the goal frame saved them twice. Hart was by far their best player. They did punish us for errors. Glad I'm not an 'Irons' fan ......their players drop to their knees at the slightest contact. However poor the ref was in the game, he gave the pen and actually played a reasonable amount of extra time. I was in the Holmesdale so wasn't sure if we should of had a pen for Wilf first half though the people near me said it was a cert".

"It took two-and-a-half hours to get to the game today. I almost left at half time and was just finishing my pint in the bar when Luca scored. I thought the staff were winding me up. Never saw that Zaha goal coming, though. Did you see his face? His heart and soul is at this club. He's our Roy of the Rovers."

"Disappointed we didn't win and massively encouraged by some of the football we're playing and organisation. We should have won based on chances created and we're playing some decent football. The whole team has been guilty of not being clinical in front of goal this season. A plus point for me is we looked far less one-dimensional. Benteke will obviously give us more options and hopefully goals when he returns. The players appear to respect Roy and Ray. Joe Hart was outstanding. "

"WHU were poor but they would have won but for a crazy decision not to keep the ball in the corner. Having said that, they had a lot of luck and we deserved our point."
- bodge

"Some positives from today given that we got a point unlike last season vs West Ham and we came back from 0-2 down showing fightback of the kind not seen in our first batch of games. We so miss not having a recognised striker but still should've got all three points - how close can one get with hitting the bar and then off the line? One thing for sure was just what fabulous support Palace got from the faithful fans at Selhurst today. Hugely important to galvanise a beleaguered team who were 0-2 down."

"If Cabaye's effort had gone in we'd have probably demolished them. I think they had the wrong mindset for the second half compared to us and also I said this week the Spurs game would tire them. It was really two mistakes that affected the result for us rather than the other way round. They matched us in battles first half but without Ward double marking and not waiting to go and meet the left wing back they never would've scored."
- Rudi Hedman

"We deserved to win and the Ham were awful, but our garbage performance in the first half cost us. Wilf should have had a pen. More points wasted. Two massive games after the break that we have to win."
- Hrolf The Ganger

"They had two shots the whole game. Apart from the two shots I don't think the first half was actually that bad, all things considered. We had more chances even in the first half. Was shocking to see how many melts we have as soon as they scored. Our survival never depended on today's result but the performance will go a long way to helping the confidence. Not one team will fancy their chances against a fighting Palace and hoepfully will give every team a fight. If we do, then no chance we go down."
- Goldfiinger

"I thought our defending for their two goals was awful but they never deserved a 2-0 lead.
We played to the end and deserved our draw. Nine shots on target so we know Hart played well. Ref was biased their way but I can't comment on the Wilf penalty as wasn't close enough and haven't seen it yet. That will have boosted confidence but we cannot keep dropping points against teams around us. Four games against lower table teams and we have one point from them - Chelsea was the bonus ball! Still - we are in with a shout so the fight goes on!"
- The Dolphin

"Anyone who thinks that we were shit in the first half wasn't at the game. Yes, we looked nervous, but we looked better than them and had more chances. They had two shots but did little else. Ref and lino at Holmesdale end were awful- he even made TFM leave the pitch after treatment despite booking Zabaleta. We should have won convincingly IMO and Hart must be their MotM."
- Nobbybm

"We looked less confident in the first half compared to the previous two league games. I think for both us and West Ham the billing as a 'must win' game seemed to get to the players. In the second half West Ham appeared afraid to lose the three points whereas we had nothing to lose and so didn't look so shaky. In hindsight you try and tackle Ayew, but I don't think anyone was expecting him to just wallop it from 20 yards."

"West Ham were their own worst enemies with all that play acting to waste time. It came back to bite them on the bum."
