Liverpool's charismatic boss insisted that the first goal was key as he reflected on his side's dismantling of a sorry West Ham at Stratford.

The German coach described how he changed his system - at late notice - in order to profit from West Ham's perceived fragility when faced with fast-flowing, counter-attacking play - which they did to devastating effect.
