Bolton boss Phil Parkinson says on-loan defender Reece Burke was unfortunate to be dropped for Bolton's last game - but could be reinstated following the Trotters' 5-1 thrashing at Wolves.

The 21-year-old Hammer, on loan at Bolton for the season scored in his most recent outing but was dropped for last weekend's trip to Wolves in favour of regular centre half Mark Beevers, who had returned from suspension.

However minus Burke, Bolton were thrashed at Molineux on Saturday - prompting a re-think from the manager, who will be without fellow defender David Wheater - also through suspension - for their next outing at home to Barnsley.

"Reece was very unlucky he didnít stay in the team," said Parkinson. "I think heíll have sat and watched that game thinking 'I canít wait for next week, because if I play well Iíve got a good chance of staying in that team' - and I donít blame him.

Like Burke West Ham's other on-loan player at bottom-placed Bolton, Josh Cullen, has also had to be patient having represented the first team just once since the end of September (in a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday).
