Hammers to face Hatters in knockout phase

West Ham's Under 23s will face Luton Town in the next stage of the Checkatrade Trophy.

Terry Westley's young charges were beaten 2-0 by League Two Wycombe Wanderers in their final match in Southern Group C, from which they had already qualified.

And as a result they will face the Bedfordhsire-based side, also in League Two and winners of qualifying Group F, at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday, 5 December.

The full draw for the first knockout phase is as follows:

Lincoln City v Accrington Stanley

All ties are scheduled to take place between Saturday, 2 December and Wedensday, 6 December.

The Checkatrade Trophy (previously known as the Football League Trophy) has been running for 34 years and this season, consists of 64 teams - all 48 clubs from League One and League Two plus 16 invited Academy (Under 21) squads from the Premeir League and Championship.

West Ham, who were in Southern Group C alongside Bristol Rovers, Swindon Town and Wycombe finished second following last night's defeat, having won both of their opening matches.
