Call forth the spirit of Chelsea

Pablo Zabaleta says West Ham need to show the same desire and determination they did to beat Chelsea, when Arsenal visit the Olympic Stadium tomorrow night.

Having put the Blues to the sword on Saturday afternoon, the Hammers have a chance to make it two derby wins out of two inside a week when the Gunners provide the next opposition at Stratford.

And the Argentinian defender challenged his team mates to repeat that outstanding performance and produce a win that would almost certainly take West Ham out of the relegation zone.

"We showed in the last two games that we are a good team with spirit, commitment and discipline," he told whufc.com. "We need to show that for 90 minutes.

"Hopefully we can put another good performance in against Arsenal on Wednesday night. I’m sure the supporters will be behind us.

"We should have more points so we need to learn from our mistakes and keep moving forward."

Meanwhile club captain Mark Noble - who played a pivotal role against Chelsea last weekend having been benched for the previous two outings - also issued a rallying call to his team mates.

"I do like winning local derbies," he said. "Chelsea, Spurs, and we’ve got another one on Wednesday night. When the atmosphere's like that it's really hard for the other team to play.

"My fingers are going to be crossed because after the Chelsea game, when we put so much in, we need to replicate that and do it all over again."
