A West Ham spokesman has insisted that claims of a row between David Moyes and Diafra Sakho are not true.

Last night it emerged that the Senegal international had threatened to storm out of The Emirates Stadium after learning he would only be a substitute against Arsenal, despite previously having been told he would be start.

That, say sources, was as a result of a row between the two after the manager was asked to explain why he continues to overlook Sakho - with further reports suggesting that he is not being played as he receives a £50,000 bonus payment for every start.

However a club spokesman denied this was the case, telling the Mail that "allegations of a row ahead of the Arsenal game and team selection being dictated by a player's contract, are categorically untrue".

Sakho, who flew to France last August in order to undergo a medical with Rennes despite West Ham having not granted him permission, has been desperate to leave West Ham since before the current season began.

In October he told journalist Claude Atcheba: "I've spent three wonderful years at West Ham but I still want to leave. I don't hide it. Fans or not, I want a change of environment. I want to see something else."

The 27-year-old was previously the subject of a £10million bid from Crystal Palace before failing a medical with West Bromwich Albion, ahead of a planned £15million switch.
