Lucky West Ham, says Moyes

David Moyes admitted that West Ham were slightly fortunate to still be in the FA Cup - following a fairly insipid display at New Meadow.

The Hammers boss concecded that the League One side were the better of the two teams despite the match ending in a goalless draw. ďWeíre fortunate that weíve taken the tie to a replay," he said, speaking to the media after the match.

"Shrewsbury were better than us today so Iím pleased to still be in the FA Cup. We had hardly any attempts at all, maybe one or two, but very few.

"I donít think anyone should be surprised by them because they are doing very well in their league. They have a bit of momentum so it was always going to be a tough game.

"The biggest disappointment for me was that we didnít show enough steel, because when you come to these places you have to show that you can battle and compete physically.

"I donít think we did that at all. In the first half, especially, we didnít compete at all."

Moyes did however have positive words for at least one of his players - namely midfielder Josh Cullen, who ended the game a tooth light after it was knocked out during a second hgalf challenge.

"Josh was probably our best player today," he added. "Considering heís only just come back and weíre getting to know him, he did well. He had two teeth knocked out and went straight to A&E to see if they can save them."
