West Ham United supporters have voted overwhelmingly in favour of extending James Collins' contract beyond the end of the current season.

The 34-year-old former Welsh international is out of contract this summer with no sign of a new deal being offered.

However a poll on the KUMB Forum has resulted in 89 per cent of supporters voting in favour of extending Collins' stay beyond the end of the season, whilst just six per cent voted against (the remaining five per cent voting unsure).

Collins, who first joined West Ham from Cardiff in 2005 is currently enjoying his second spell at West Ham, having spent three years at Aston Villa (from 2009 to 2012) before returning to the Boleyn Ground.

Earlier this week the Newport-born centre half was linked with a £2million move to Brighton & Hove Albion, before privately revealing that he has no interest in joining the Premier League newcomers.
