And the news has now been confirmed by Gladback in a short statement on their website. "Borussia has agreed to re-loan Reece Oxford from English Premier League club West Ham United," it said.

"The 19-year-old will strengthen the Fohlenelf until the end of the season. He played three times for Gladbach in the Bundesliga during the first half of the season - twice from the beginning - and was involved in the DFB Cup match against Bayer Leverkusen.

And Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl admitted that he was delighted to secure Oxford's return. "We are glad that we were able to bring Reece back," he added.

"He indicated his great potential at the end of the first half of the season and we are confident that he will help us in the current second half."
