Reece Burke is on his way back to the Championship tonight after agreeing to return to Bolton Wanderers.

Burke, who featured for the Hammers in all three FA Cup ties this month will stay with the Trotters for the rest of the season after the clubs agreed to renew his half-season loan deal.

The 21-year-old made 15 appearances for Wanderers between August and January before David Moyes introduced him to the first team squad at West Ham as emergency cover, due to an extensive injury list.

But with Jose Fonte ready to return to first team action, it was deemed that the Academy star's continued development would be better served by playing regular first team football at the Macron Stadium.

"Bolton Wanderers are pleased to confirm that Reece Burke has rejoined the club on loan from West Ham United until the end of the season," read a statement from the Championship club.

"Burke made 15 appearances for the Whites, scoring one goal during the first half of the season. Now back at BL6, he will be looking to pick up where he left off, starting with the Trotters’ televised clash with Bristol City on Friday night."
