Noble: it's a tough atmosphere to play in [audio]

Mark Noble says he understands why supporters are frustrated - but urged the fans to stay behind the team.

West Ham's club captain, speaking to Sky Sports following this afternoon's demoralising 3-0 defeat at home to Burnley admitted that there had been a level of unrest for a while, but insisted that the players need their backing.

And he also defended his decision to throw a supporter who had invaded the pitch to the ground. "We have got to protect ourselves, " he said. "There were a number of fans who got onto the pitch, but if someone approaches me personally I'm going to defend myself."
