David Moyes is understood to have told David Sullivan that he no longer wishes to be considered for the now vacant managerial post at West Ham.

According to a piece by Ken Dyer (Standard), Moyes has told close friends that he is out of the race become the club's next full time manager following a telephone conversation with the co-chairman.

In that conversation, which is reported to have taken place on Monday, it is claimed that Sullivan told the 55-year-old Scot that the club were considering alternative options as supporters had not been convinced by his tenure, which lasted just shy of seven months.

And as a result of Sullivan's position, Moyes is said to have told associates that he no longer wishes to be involved in the process.

News that Moyes has pulled out of the race to succeed himself couldn't have come at a worse time, with Sullivan's co-chairman David Gold having endorsed Moyes' candidacy in an interview with Sky on Tuesday.

West Ham have since posted a brief statement confirming that Moyes has left the club.
