Issa Diop is set to undergo a medical ahead of a record move to West Ham, say reports.

The French Under 21 international has been at the centre of a transfer tug of war in recent weeks with West Ham one of the parties extremely interested in signing the Toulouse youngster.

And it is now being reported that West Ham have fought off interest from elsewhere to land the highly-rated Diop, who is close to agreeing a 25million move to the Premier League.

The 6'3" defender is reported to be travelling to London in order to agree personal terms before taking a mnedical examination.

According to reports from Italy on Monday lunchtime (Di Marzio), Roma's Director of Football Monchi has met with the Argentinian's agents in order to discuss a possible move to the Stadio Olympico.

This despite reports suggesting that West Ham were in pole position to sign the 28-year-old.

The Hammers are reported to have baulked at Pastore's wage demands, though to be in the region of 6million per year (approximately 100,000 per week). Roma, who are thought to be favoured by the player will however pay no more than 15million plus add-ons; the player is valued at 25million by PSG.

* West Ham are ready to reignite their interest in Porto's Mexican hero Miguel Layun.

The 29-year-old, who has been monitored by West Ham for several months was involved last night as Mexico beat Germany 1-0 in the World Cup Finals. Having spent last season on loan at Sevilla, he is likely to be available this summer for a knockdown fee of around 5million.

* Norwich midfielder James Maddison is close to agreeing a move to Leicester City, despite having been strongly linked with West Ham in recent days.

The 21-year-old was recently voted as the Canaries' Player of the Year and is rated as one of the brightest prospects outside of the Premier League - but seems set to snub a move to West Ham and Southampton, who also expressed an interest, in order to join the Foxes.
