Newcastle United are reported to have offered in the region on £12million for Sturaro, who has represented Italy on four occasions since making his full international debut in 2016.

However Juve are holding out for around £17.5million for a player who cost them just €5.5million when moving from Genoa in July 2014.

Sturaro, who can operate across the middle of the field has also occasionally played at centre half, making him a particuarly versatile player. He has also filled in at full back on occasions.

He began his career with Genoa but made his professional debut whilst on loan at Modena in Serie B. He Sturaro made his Serie A bow a season later in a 2-0 defeat at Inter, having returned to Genoa.

The following summer he signed a five-year contract with Juventus, whom has has represented in the semi finals of the CHampions League. After just one season at the Allainz Stadium, he signed a new five-year contract tying him to the club until 2021.
