Co-owner David Sullivan has opened up with his thoughts on West Ham United's summer transfer business.

On the day West Ham confirmed their fifth arrival of pre-season in the shape of experienced Ukraine international Andriy Yarmolenko, Sullivan spoke out to welcome the 28-year-old and hail the club's success in the transfer market.

"We are delighted to have secured two very exciting signings in the space of three days," Sullivan told whufc.com. ďAs a Board, we assured our supporters that we would be looking to bring in high-calibre players, and Jack and Andriy fit that bill perfectly.

"Both of them have played at the highest level and we look forward to seeing that quality on show on a regular basis in the claret and blue. Jack also knows the Premier League very well, and I know all our supporters will join me in welcoming them both.

"They become our fourth and fifth new signings of an already busy summer; we also hope to have more exciting news regarding incomings in the near future as we aim to provide Manuel [Pellegrini] with the strongest squad possible."

Sullivan, who recently hired Mario Husillos as Director of Football was speaking publicly for the first time since West Ham United were fined for March's pitch invasions that occured during the 3-0 home defeat to Burnley.

That protest, and various other smaller demonstrations that followed were partly the result of the club's dreadful record in the transfer market - something that Sullivan and his fellow Board members appear particularly determined to address this summer.
