Obiang linked with Serie A return and other transfer news

Serie A side Atalanta are seeking to sign West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang.

Reports emanating from Italy today (Tuesday) are claiming that Obiang, who previously spent time in Italy's top flight with Sampdoria, is close to agreeing a return to Serie A with La Dea .

Atalanta, who are also thought to be close to signing Chelsea's attacking midfielder Mario Pasalic are understood to want Obiang initially on loan with view to a permanent transfer at the end of the agreed term.

However West Ham are currently insisting on a permanent deal for a player who has made 87 appearances for the club since moving to the Premier League in the summer of 2015.

* Croatian World Cup star Domagoj Vida is reported to have been the subject of a rejected 16million offer from West Ham.

Turkish outlet NTV Spor claim that West Ham and Liverpool are set to go head to head for the services of the pony-tailed defender, who is posied to leave Besiktas this summer after fiuve years in Turkey.

However the Turkish club are seeking considerably more for Vida as a result of his strong performance in the FInals.

* West Ham are reported to have made enquiries into the situation regarding Juventus' Croatian winger Marko Pjaca.

Pjaca, 23, had seemed set for Fiorentina but negotiations have since stalled, leading to West Ham and fellow Premier League club Liverpool approaching I Bianconeri.

* Staying with Serie A, and numorous sources in Italy this morning are claiming that West Ham have made Marko Arnautovic available for sale.

According to Italian daily Leggo, Rome have already rejected the opportunity to sign the Austrian international, who was named as KUMB's Player of the Year last season.

* Inter midfielder Joao Mario is set to leave the Serie A club this summer - although a return to West Ham is almost certainly out of the question.

The Portuguese international, who featured for his country at this summer's World Cup Finals looks set to join Premier League newcomers Wolves on a similar deal to that which took him to West Ham last season - a loan spell with an option to buy.
