West Ham's Under 23 midfielder Sead Haksabanovic has joined La Liga 2 side Malaga on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old has agreed to join the club formerly managed by current Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini for the entire 2018/19 campaign, having been told he is unlikely to feature at West Ham.

Malaga's fifth signing of the summer, Haksabanovic is due to be presented at La Roseleda on Tuesday morning by the Secunda Division club.

Boquerones were relegated from La Liga last season after finishing bottom of the table having accrued a total of just 20 points from their 38 league matches.

Pellegrini - who was known by fans of the club as "the caretaker" - was in charge of Malaga between 2010 and 2013. He took the job having rejected the opportunity to manager the Mexican national team and led the team to a Champions League place for the first time in their history.
