Edimilson Fernandes is still on course to sign for Fiorentina ahead of this afternoon's 5pm deadline as part of a player + cash deal.

The Swiss youngster, who was named by KUMB readers as Young Player of the Year and Best Signing in 2017 is set to join the Serie A side in exchange for experienced Colombian international Carlos Sanchez ahead of Thursday afternoon's deadline.

Signed from FC Sion two years ago this month, Fernandes featured on just 17 occasions for West Ham during the 2017/18 campaign largely as a result of injury.

Meanwhile 32-year-old Sanchez, who is known affectionately as 'The Rock', is set to return to England for the first time since a disastrous two-year spell with Aston Villa.
