West Ham United's Goal of the Month contenders for August have been released - with just two first team goals featured.

As a result of the Hammers' less-than-stellar Premier League form in August, this shortlist for this month's competition features just ONE Premier League goal - Marko Arnautovic's strike against Arsenal - and one from the Carabao Cup (Issa Diop versus AFC Wimbledon).

And In order to complete the shortlist, those compiling it were forced to turn to the Under 23s and Women's team; consequently reserve striker Xande Silva features twice, for his efforts against Tottenham and Manchester City, whilst Leanne Kiernan's strike for the women's team against Lewes FC is also included.

West Ham's first team scored just two Premier League goals under new manager Manuel Pellegrini during the month of August; the aforementioned effort complemented by Marko Arnautovic's penalty in the 2-1 defeat against Bournemouth.

The other first team goals not considered good enough to qualify for the club's shortlist, produced in association with shirt sleeve sponsor Basset & Gold, were Angelo Ogbonna's header against AFC Wimbledon and Javier Hernandez's goal in the same match.
