Hammers trio named in Team of the Week

Filed: Monday, 24th September 2018

Three West Ham players have been named in the latest Premier League Team of the Week.

Veteran full back Pablo Zabaleta, record defensive signing Issa Diop and teenage midfielder Declan Rice were all included in the pick of the weekend by pundit Alan Shearer following their excellent performances against Chelsea at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday lunchtime.

Zabaleta was roundly praised for his age-defying energetic performance, whilst Diop constantly proved a thorn in the side of Chelsea's attackers. Meanwhile Irish international Rice enjoyed perhaps his best game in midfield since being asked to adopt the new role by Manuel Pellegrini during the summer.

The full Premier League Team of the Week for Matchday 6 is as follows.
