Carlos Sanchez could be sidelined for MONTHS after limping out of last night's 8-0 win over Macclesfield.
The recent signing lasted just nine minutes before being replaced, leading Manuel Pellegrini to confirm during his post-match press conference that the Colombian international would be assessed on Thursday morning.

And the news following a meeting with the club's medical team couldn't have been much worse, with Sanchez reported to have sustained suspected medial ligament damage which, if confirmed, would almost certainly keep him out of action until next year.
The 32-year-old defensive midfielder joined West Ham from Fiorentina in a £5million deal in the final week of the summer transfer window, since when he has made six appearances under Manuel Pellegrini.
Sanchez joins the likes of Jack Wilshere, Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and Winston Reid on West Ham's growing long-term injured list.
