Karren Brady has told the London Assembly that West Ham would be willing to investigate the possibility of purchasing the Olympic Stadium.

West Ham United's vice chair was appearing in front of the committee this afternoon in order to answer questions relating to the stadium.

And when asked whether the club, Brady replied: "I think the London Stadium craves direction. I think it should be a jewel in the crown of London, it should be hosting events 365 days a year.

"It really should have the commercial expertise it deserves, it should have the financial controls it so readily needs. I don’t think it is anywhere near realising its full potential and that, for me, is incredibly frustrating.

"We could help such a lot in all of those regards but unfortunately our help has not been required or sought."

Other points made by Ms Brady were:

- The honours board will be reinstalled following successful negotiations

- The pitch surround stalemate has been resolved and will be mainly claret

- The East Stand of the Olympic Stadium will be re-named after a former player

- The appointment of Lyn Garner at the LLDC has improved relations

- The club should sell naming rights for the stadium

- A statue (subject of which to be confirmed) will be installed outside the stadium

You may see a recording of the meeting below.
