Gutted - but we'll take it!

Declan Rice admitted to being "gutted" after Leicester nicked a point with a late, deflected equaliser - but, upon reflection, was happy with a share of the spoils.

The 19-year-old midfielder was a contender for Man of the Match as West Ham came away from the King Power Stadium with a point - although it was so nearly all three.

Rice was magnificent in West Ham's midfield as the Hammers went agonisingly close to preserving the slender lead afforded them in the 30th minute by Fabian Balbuena's first goal for the club.

Sadly they were to be cruelly denied in the final minute of normal time when Wilfried Ndidiís deflected effort levelled the scores.

That lucky strike was reflected in Rice's brief post-match summary, when posting on his twitter account after the game - as was the unfortunate injury sustained in the closing minutes by City's Daniel Amartey.

"Gutted to concede so late and not come away with 3 points, but we will take that point!" he wrote. "Thank you to the fans that travelled - [my] thoughts also go out to Amartay, wishing him a speedy recovery."

Full back Amartey was given oxygen before being stretchered off after appearing to twist his knee at the end of match during a West Ham attack. It meant that Claude Puel's side also ended the game with ten men, having made all three substitutions prior to the defender's accident.

"My first thought is for my player at the end," said Puel. "I hope it is not serious, he played well and gave everything. Itís difficult to see this at the end. He needs to have it examined and then we will see after."
