Redknapp going 'bare bones'

Former West Ham manager Harry Redknapp is set to join the cast of I'm A celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Redknapp, who played for and managed West Ham United during his career in football is set to become one of the ten contestants after agreeing to join the show for a reported fee of circa 500,000.

The 71-year-old, who was in charge at The Boleyn between 1994 and 2001 will join the likes of actor John Barrowman, X Factor contestant Fleur East and Hammers fan Noel Edmonds when the show commences this Saturday, 18 November.

"There's nothing tougher than being a manager of a football team when things aren't going well," said Redknapp. "You feel responsible, however many people support your team every week.

"The buck stops with you. You haven't got many friends when it's not going well as a football manager. So no, I don't think doing this will be tougher."

Previous shows have seen participants compete in in a series of challenging tasks, some of which have involved eating animal genitals. The show, which lasts for several weeks, is expected to be watched by up to 10 million viewers.
