A season ticket holder who was moved from his seat without notice prior to the home fixture with Burnley earlier this month has been partially refunded by the club.

KUMB member Upminster Hammer was one of a number of fans who arrived at the match to be told that they could no longer sit in the seat they had paid for during pre-season, as the front two rows of their block - block 216 - were now part of a "segregation area".

The supporter - and others like him - were forced to spend the first half of the match standing before finding themselves an empty seat for the second half, as they had not been offered an alternative by stewards who moved them.

Following advice from fellow KUMB members, the supporter contacted Head of Ticketing Nicola Keye. And after two weeks, the club finally contacted the supporter to inform them that they were being refunded the cost of their Burnley ticket.

"Apparently the segregated area is going back to normal from the Man City game," Upminster Hammer wrote on the KUMB Forum. "So I will have my original seat, plus I have been given £45 club cash for my experience at the Burnley game.

"I'm happy with the outcome as I was fond of my seat, but it's another example of the club not communicating clearly - as we were told at the Burnley game that there is no way those seats would be available again this season."

Any other supporters who found themselves in a similar situation at the Burnley match are therefore advised to contact the club in order to arrange a refund.
