Marko Arnautovic has been passed fit to face Newcastle United at St James' Park this weekend.

The Austrian international, who has been at the centre of a string of rumours regarding his immediate future this week is included in the match day squad for this weekend's trip to the North East.

The news was confirmed during Thursday's press conference by Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini, who also revealed that Jack Wilshere could join him in the match day squad.

"Marko Arnautovic worked the whole week without any problems," said Pellegrini. "He has one day more to recover for the game, but he's OK and he worked without any problems. Marko is ready to play.

"Andy Carroll is maybe one step further forward than Jack Wilshere because he played 45 minutes in the friendly game against Brentford and was on the bench last week. Both of them worked without problems this week so may be on the squad list for Saturday."

Linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks, Arnautovic has frequently refused to be drawn on interest from other parties despite having expressed a desire to feature in the Champions League once again.

Rumours of a 50million switch were floated earlier this week, although Arnautovic remains a West Ham player - for the time being.
