Manuel Pellegrini was naturally delighted with the three points and back-to-back wins, although he maintained that West Ham's defeat of Cardiff had been a "strange game".

The Hammers boss argued that his team enjoyed pockets of domination - such as the opening 15 minutes of both halves - but failed to stamp their authority on the game, despite seeing off a determined challenge from the struggling Welsh side with some ease.
