West Ham have teamed up with a recruitment software specialist a matter of weeks before the winter transfer window opens.

Analytics FC, a company that specialises in data modelling and football analytic programmes covering player and staff recruitment, performance and development, announced today that they would be working with West Ham United for the foreseeable future.

Bobby Gardiner, Director of Analytics FC, revealed that West Ham had signed up for the company's TransferLab scouting platform, which tracks players in over 50 leagues globally. "It’s great for TransferLab to be chosen and used by one of the biggest football clubs in the world," he said.

"The confidence that West Ham have placed in TransferLab is a great endorsement for the power the platform. We’re confident it can add value through the breadth and depth of its player scouting functionality.”

AFC describe TransferLab as "the next generation of data-driven player recruitment software", with which "we have combined football know-how with advanced data modelling expertise" to produce the software platform.

It is added that "the framework for TransferLab is built on a complex 'Expected Goals' model which rewards or penalises every action on a football pitch based on its effect on a team's likelihood of scoring or conceding.

"It has a high level of predictive power at both a team and player level. TransferLab provides users with the ability to simulate the predictive impact of players upon team performance."

The cost of TransferLab - which claims to hold around 250,000 players in its database - ranges from £395 per month for the StarterLab package, whilst the PremierLab option weighs in at £1,666 per month. Meanwhile bespoke CustomLab packages are also available.
