The opposition view: Brighton & Hove Albion

Having taken four points from West Ham this season, Brighton fans were understandably bullish when referencing last night's 2-2 draw in Stratford.

Discover what Seagulls fans thought of the stalemate in your latest edition of the OV...

"Pretty happy with that point to be honest. Yes, it is frustrating that we were two up but we did not back off and go defensive. West Ham came at us and in Arnautovic they have an excellent player who bullied our back line. No defeats from Arsenal, Everton and West Ham away is fantastic going."
- Wilko

"Overall a hard-fought. mid-table draw. Both teams scored slightly lucky goals, nothing crystal clear, no silly mistakes. As much as we can think we should have defended a two-goal lead, their subs were a quality shift. We could have possibly made substitutions at 0-2, and gone for the jugular, but that would have been risky... Maybe."
- zefarelly

"Neither side played well enough for long enough to deserve to win. It was a poor first half from both teams. We took the advantage early in the second half but couldn't hold it long enough. Pellegrini made two more quick changes (Sicknote had gone at half-time) and Noble and Antonio wrestled back the initiative. It was good proactive management and it changed the momentum of the game. It was a hard fought and worthy point but no more. They had the clearer chances and at 2-2 looked the more likely winners. We did well to dampen them and the crowd down in the last 10-15 mins. They made good, quick changes and it unsettled us and got them right back in the game. They have some real quality in Anderson and Arnautovic and in the second half they showed their class."
- Mo Gosfield

"Frustrating, we should have won that. They’re a really average side and I felt we were going to win that before we went ahead. This has been a really strange season, considering we look quite comfortable and most people would say we should be happy where we are, I honestly think we should be higher up the table and on more points. For me we’re better than West Ham, Bournemouth and Wolves etc so should be looking at 8th/9th place. We’ve dropped so many points we should have won this season, the players and manager need more belief in themselves. We’re better than we think we are."

"VAR can't come soon enough as yet another decision went against us and a goal scored that should have been ruled out."
- BensGrandad

"The stream I was watching clearly showed the ball did NOT go out. Very close, but the whole of the ball was not over the line. Having said that, I thought Bernardo was clearly pushed. We left our subs too late, not for the first time. I would have bought on Andone and or Knocky, or maybe both, when we were two-nil up. West hame were all over the place we could have finished them off then if we'd been ruthless. Having said all that, I would have taken a point before the game."
- Cadiz Seagull

"Possibly the worst ground in English football, Jesus Christ. Completely and utterly soulless."
- brightn'ove

"The ball was in but it was so marginal the linesman must have been guessing. However, it was the right guess. If that was our opportunity we would have been annoyed for it to be ruled as out. That’s why we are having VAR."
- hoveboyslim

"He [Antonio] literally pushed Bernardo. While everyone is looking to see whether the ball is over the line they seem to be missing the straight arm shove. Annoying way to concede the win, but a very good point nevertheless. Can't complain that West Ham got the point they deserved. They probably deserved one at the Amex. Our away performances are starting to look a lot better."
- Stato

"From my vantage point we were putting in a very solid away performance against a side that has very much been in form of late. I thought we were looking very comfortable. West Ham rolled the dice, but at two down with half-an-hour to go, they had little choice. From 2-2 I feared the worst and thought we'd go on to lose 3 or 4-2. Arnautovic was strutting, West Ham had their tails up and the crowd was back on their side. We held firm however and saw out the game in a relatively assured manner."
- Bozza

"West Ham were really poor. Bar that ten-minute spell they offered nothing. Arnautovic is an outstanding player, the best on the pitch, but apart from that they are really not that good. All teams will have results they rue but do you honestly think Watford, Wolves, Everton and Bournemouth are all better than us over a season? I certainly don’t. Leicester are the seventh best side but after that we should definitey be aiming for 8th. We just need that extra confidence to go for wins when we’re drawing and not concede defeat to ‘big’ clubs before the match has started. We’re actually a really good Premier League side."
- Farehamseagull

"An even game, loads of chances for both, either team could’ve scored a late winner. Despite home advantage and a further £110m spent on internationals, they still failed to beat us. Nothing to get angry about."
- Weststander

"Disappointing and pleasing result at the same time, quite a weird emotion really. Terrible defending by Duffy for their first goal and second goal the ball was very arguably out of the pitch when it was played back across, but Antonio shouldn’t have been able to skip by Bernardo and others so easily. Four points taken from Everton and West Ham over the last two games, so not a bad return but it probably really should have been six points."
