Post-match press conference: Manuel Pellegrini v Birmingham City [audio]

Filed: Saturday, 5th January 2019
By: Staff Writer

Manuel Pellegrini dismissed reports of a bust-up between himself and Marko Arnautovic as West Ham completed a 2-0 FA Cup third round win over Birmingham City.

The Austrian international was rather less than pleased to be substituted just ahead of the half-hour mark in this afternoon's encounter in Stratford.

However Pellegrini revealed that he felt allowing Arnautovic, who had recently returned from injury, to continue would have been an "unnecessary risk" with major Premier League fixtures on the horizon.
