Snodgrass praised for charitable efforts

Robert Snodgrass has been roundly praised by West Ham fans on social media tonight for his efforts to boost funds for the 'Isla's Fight' campaign.

The Hammers winger has been diligently working behind the scenes to procure match-worn shirts with view to auctioning them for the benefit of the campaign, which seeks to raise sufficient funds to allow four-year-old Isla Caton to receive what could potentially be life-saving treatment in her fight against Neuroblastoma.

Amongst Snodgrass' haul so far include signed shirts from Premier League and Champions League winners plus various other individual items - all of which should raise thousands of pounds for the fund when auctioned later this month.

Baz Cox, who is closely involved with the campaign led the calls of praise for the Scottish international. "Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Robert Snodgrass," he wrote.

"What a man! All this off his own back to help Isla and her fight against Neuroblastoma. Iíve had to keep quiet about this but NOW this man deserves all the praise thatís coming his way. Rob, thank you mate."

Matthew Midlane added: "If youíre reading this Snoddy you are an absolute role model to us lads growing up. Iíve probably never looked up to a player at the club so quickly as you in the last couple of years."

Doc H Ball, writing on the KUMB Forum mused: "Many fans didnít give Snodgrass a chance and he was given a dose of Payetitis. It could have all ended badly but from that and maybe because of it, he has developed a real connection with the fans. Itís been great to see."

Meanwhile fellow Scot Chris McNulty replied: "I hope this myth of us Scots being tight is put to bed! Absolutely superb Robert Snodgrass. Top bloke and well done."
