Arnautovic is Austria-bound

Marko Arnautovic left Stratford immediately after today's 1-0 win over Arsenal in order to catch a flight to Vienna.

And the Austrian international was quick to put a stop to rumours that began circulating as a result by announcing that he was on his way to Vienna in order to spend some time with his family.

Although the Hammers are back in action next Saturday when they face a trip to Bournemouth, Arnautovic appeared to indicate that he may not be involved when applauding all four corners of the Olympic Stadium after being substituted during this lunchtime's win.

However Manuel Pellegrini, when asked to clarify the situation in his post-match press conference suggested the striker's departure may not yet be a foregone conclusion. "We'll see what happens in the next few days," he said. "Nothing is 100 per cent sure."

And when asked to clarify why Arnautovic has been replaced with 20 minutes of the second half remaining, Pellegrini replied: "Marko felt the same pain in his back he felt [against Birmingham] in the FA Cup so it wasn't good for him to take a risk and continue."
