West Ham are reported to have made enquiries into the availability of Viktoria Plzen midfielder Patrik Hrosovsky, as the transfer deadline draws ever closer.

United have made just one signing so far during the current window, that of free agent Samir Nasri.

But according to Spanish daily Diaro AS, the Hammers have contacted Hrosovsky's current club in order to gauge the possibility of signing the 26-year-old, who is valued around the £5million mark.

A three-times Championship winner is his home country, Hrosovsky also comes with European Championship and Champions League experience, having featured against the likes of Real Madrid in recent seasons.

The midfielder, who is set to marry his long-term girlfriend later this year has represented Slovakia on 22 occasions since making his international debut in 2014. He has also been linked with clubs such as Getafe and Huddersfield in recent months.

* In other transfer news, Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata is said to have been the latest subject of a bank-busting offer from West Ham, according to Italian outlet Bergamo Post.

The Post report that West Ham have tabled an offer in the region of €40million for the 27-year-old Colombian, who is currently on loan from Sampdoria and has scored in his last eight consecutive appearances - including a four goal haul against Frosinone last weekend.

* West Ham are one of several clubs keeping tabs on young Sunderland striker Josh Maja. The 20-year-old is attracting interest from several clubs across the continent having refused to sign a new deal with the League One side.

Born in Lewisham, Maja spent time with London clubs such as Crystal Palace and Fulham before opting to sign a scholarship with the Black Cats, for whom he made his professional debut in 2016.

* Former Hammer Demba Ba has completed a move to Turkish first division side Basaksehir. The striker spent four months at West Ham in 2011, scoring seven goals in 12 starts but was unable to prevent West Ham from being relegated at the end of the season.

Ba, now 33, had most recently been playing for Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League.
