Lucas Perez could be on his way to the Bundesliga ahead of the transfer deadline following a late offer from Schalke 04.

The German side, currently 12th in the Bundesliga after 19 games are reported to have made a bid to sign the former Arsenal striker, initially on loan with view to making the deal permanent at the end of the current season.

West Ham, who would also receive a loan fee as part of the agreement are currently considering the offer, according to the BBC's David Ornstein.

The 30-year-old was not involved in last night's 3-0 defeat at Wolves, a match that saw fellow forward Marko Arnautovic limp off with an injured foot following a second half challenge.

Perez has made just 14 appearances for West Ham since moving from Arsenal in a 4million switch last summer, scoring five goals.
