Reece Oxford is understood to have completed a six-month loan agreement with Bundesliga side FC Augsburg.

The out-of-favour central defender, who has already enjoyed two loan spells in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach is set to return to Germany after relegation candidates Augsburg agreed a deal with West Ham to sign the 20-year-old.

Oxford, one of the club's most highly-rated youngsters three years ago had previously insisted that he would not join another club, preferring instead to see out his lengthy, lucrative contract (signed in 2016) at West Ham.

West Ham, who have previously indicated that there is no future for the player at the club will no doubt be delighted to get Oxford off the books - even if that is on a temporary basis only.
