Pre-match press conference: Jurgen Klopp v West Ham Utd

Filed: Saturday, 2nd February 2019
By: Staff Writer

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that he doesn't expect his side to enjoy such an easy game against West Ham as the last occasion on which the two sides met.

Speaking to the media ahead of West Ham's live TV appearance, the Reds boss argued that the Hammers would be a far different proposition to that which succumbed to a 4-0 defeat on the opening day of the season.

"We started the season with a brilliant game for us and not a very good one for them," said Klopp. "But that day they had a lot of new players and a new manager and we were strong.

"Since then they've been one of the strongest teams [in the Premier League]. Following that really bad start, they're nearly a top six side - and have one of the most experienced players in the league."
